What are the benefits of online learning?

How does online learning work?

An online learning management system is a one-stop website that allows students to complete all their coursework online. There are three main components to it:

• Content: Course content such as syllabus, directions for assignments and teacher-created lectures, multimedia and other learning objects
• Assessments: Students turn in assignments online and the teacher can grade, give feedback and complete an online gradebook all within the system. Students can also take teacher-created tests or quizzes.
• Communication: Students can E-mail, use discussion boards, live chat and several other collaboration tools. Not only does this make communication easy, but it allows for simple collaboration on group projects.
