PARENT INFORMATION

CLC Network offers online courses to middle school-aged students with unique academic talents and who have limited opportunity to work at a level that challenges their ability. We offer the following courses:

  • Pre-Algebra, Algebra and Geometry
  • Honors English, 6th, 7th and 8th

Online courses from CLC Network are perfect for students who perform at or above grade level and who are motivated toward maximum achievement. We offer self-screening prerequisites to help determine appropriateness for online learning at this level.

We anticipate three groups of parents who will be interested in our courses for their students: parents who home educate; parents of students enrolled in CLC Network Schools; and, parents whose students attend a traditional public, private or parochial school.

Home Educating Parents

CLC Network online courses are collaborative tools for parents who home educate and who feel uncertain about teaching particular subject matter, and for busy parents who are not always available to instruct and to answer questions. Since complete instruction is provided online, you can be assured that your student’s individual needs are addressed. With the curriculum available 24/7, you have the flexibility of determining an appropriate pace and schedule of studying for your child.

Parents who wish to enroll their son or daughter in a CLC Network online course must do so using the online registration process.

CLC Network Parents

Our courses are available for students whose school is unable to offer a course, or courses, at a level appropriate for a particular student (e.g. Geometry for 8th grade students). Our online courses are asynchronous, which means students do not need to be online at the same time to take the course, allowing students to work on the course when they are able. Our courses replace a course from student’s curriculum and our students usually work on the course when they would normally be scheduled for that class during the school day (e.g. during math class period).

We ask that you work with your school administrator as you consider enrolling your student in one or more of our classes. You might begin with a conversation with your school’s coordinator of services to students with academic talents.

A CLC Network Parent is the parent of a student who is enrolled in a CLC Network School (see the About Us section to see if your school is part of the CLC Network).

CLC Network parents who wish to enroll their son or daughter in a CLC Network online course must do so through their CLC Network school. Please talk with your school administrator.

Non-CLC Network Parents

Parents whose students attend Non-CLC Network schools are encouraged to consider our online courses when looking for appropriate academic challenges for their students. CLC Network courses provide an excellent option for students who are underserved by typical grade level classes and for whom there exists limited options within their typical curricular offerings. CLC Network online courses provide academic challenges and engagement for students with academic talent from around the country.

We ask that you work with your school administrator as you consider enrolling your student in one or more of our classes. You might begin with a conversation with your school’s coordinator of services to students with academic talents.

A Non-CLC Network Parent is the parent of a child who is enrolled in a traditional public, private or parochial school (see the About Us section of this web site to see if your school is part of the CLC Network).

Parents who are not part of the CLC Network and who wish to enroll their student in a CLC Network online course must do so using the online registration process.

"What I like about the online math is that you just work on it during math time or spare time, without the 5 hour explanations. It goes way faster, and you don't skip anything like you would in regular math. It is fun, too, because you can be alone while working on it. I also like group projects where you have to contact each other through chat rooms. They also are fun because you get to know the people in your class you don't know. ONLINE MATH ROCKS!"
